Bring On The Brit! #TeamGarrick

Hello my lovelies! Have you guys heard about the New Adult Crush Tourney? You must have. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get introduced to new book boyfr—err.. Books. I mean books. To get introduced to new books. What?

Ok, then. Being a hardcore Cora Carmack fan, I’m obviously vouching for team Garrick. He’s been advocated by the wonderful Hannah at In TheBest Worlds. Seriously, if you see my inbox, you’ll realize what an awesome advocate our British hottie was lucky enough to snatch. Her dedication is inspiring. Hugs!

Anyway… Garrick’s first match is TODAY and he needs all the support he can get. So… If you need reminders of why Garrick is the perfect crush, I’m reposting this little interview that was part of the Losing It Blog Tour almost a year ago (time, man… it flies.) He’s not only hot; he’s sweet, caring AND smart. Talk about a whole package.

Enough rambling. You can read the original post here, but here’s the juicy part:

Me: First of all, lovely to meet you *handshake*. Tell me a little about yourself, Garrick.

G:   Hello Johana, it's lovely to meet you. Well, I'm an actor. Oh, and I'm English. Bliss always says I should lead with that, but I think the accent makes it fairly redundant. Since I was little, I've always loved a challenge. That's what's so great about theatre-- every day at the office is different with a new part to play or a new audience or new obstacles. It makes for a very interesting life, which I suppose is the most I can ask for.

Me: I have a healthy respect for a man that loves a challenge. Speaking of, I've heard some interesting things about Bliss. What can you tell me about her?

G: Ah, Bliss. I mentioned that I love a challenge, right? She's definitely that. I won't pretend I have her all figured out. She's a complex girl and I like that. She's hilarious, but takes life very seriously. She's ambitious, but indecisive. She's very intelligent, but well, in the time I've known her she's certainly made some... interesting choices. She's sexy (even though she always makes this funny face when I say that). From the moment we met, I knew if anything could keep my life interesting, it would be her.

Me:   *Stares intensely at him* Oh, my! And what crossed your mind when you found out Bliss' role in your new job?

G: Christ, that was a bad day, wasn't it? Oddly enough, it took me a bit to really figure out what had happened. I stood there staring, coming up with all these crazy reasons that she could be there. When I realized she was a student, I was just gutted. I mean, the night before had ended poorly, but I'd planned to go round to her place after I got off work, see if I could smooth things over. Needless to say, that didn't happen.

Me: You've told me about Bliss, now I want to hear about you. What made you pursue a career in theatre? Did someone influence your decision, or is it just "your call"? Heavens know, it's a challenging path.

G: Now, Johana, are you forgetting how I feel about challenges? *grins* How I became interested in theatre is actually a funny story. I wanted to play rugby when I was younger. My mum is a bit overprotective, so she was appalled. After a few injuries, she got it in her head that she needed to provide me with a more cultured upbringing. She started taking me to plays, hoping the arts would turn me into a proper gentleman. Instead, it turned me into an actor. I'm not sure I've been entirely proper since.

Me:  Oh, believe me, I haven't forgotten. I promised my readers we'll discuss some particular subjects. So… Do you cook?

G: I do not, not well at least. Don't be too disappointed, ladies. What I lack in the kitchen, I make up for in other rooms.

Me:  Oh my God. I.. I mean.. Well. Thank you for that visual. And who cares, right? There are always delivery services. And how were your first experiences (OMG *blushes*) in America? I mean, in the theatre scene and all?

G: Visuals, eh? I'm a tactile person myself. I learn best through touch. But you asked about my first years in America. Well, I moved when I was 18. It was an adjustment, certainly. A culture shock in many ways, but I loved it. It didn't hurt that American girls love a guy with an accent. My first show was actually The Importance of Being Earnest. I had a leg up there considering I already had the dialect down. I love England, but I'm happy here in the States. Very happy.

Me: And what's your favorite play of all time?

G: Now you've done it. It's your fault if I go on too long. Favorite is a hard thing to pin down. I remember my life in plays-- which stories were most important to me at different times. Over the years I've called many shows my "favorite." Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett, Hamlet, The History Boys by Alan Bennett, All my Sons by Arthur Miller, The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams, and the musical Sunday in the Park with George just to name a few. These days though... I'd say my favorite is Phaedra.

Me: I heard Bliss is doing pretty good career-wise… But what are your plans on the long term?

G: For my career or Bliss? I've got big plans for both I'd say.

Me: I am glad to hear that. It's all about the passion you feel for what you do, no? Any words of wisdom for aspiring actors out there?

G: Approach life the way you would approach portraying a role. Discover what you want, and go after it. Don't give up when your objective isn't met in the first scene. Try harder. Change your tactics. Obstacles make life interesting. If a character were to back down from a challenge, it wouldn't be a very interesting play. The same goes for life.

Me: That's an amazing advice. I'm definitely looking forward to hear more about you, guys. Thank you infinitely for joining me for this interview.

You are very welcome, Johana. It was lovely to meet you.

Cading It.. Oh, sorry. Faking It Blog Tour -> Character Interview: Cade (Plus embarrasing internal monologue.)

Guys! I’m so, so honored and excited about this post I can’t even… Visiting us today is Cade from Cora Carmack’s Faking It. If you’ve read it already (and if you didn’t, get ON with it) you might agree with me that it needs to be renamed Cading It. In fact, I’m starting a campaign. I even made a prospect cover for future editions.

Even Darren Criss agrees with me…

Well, now the part you’ve all been waiting to read… I might have gotten a little too excited. And possibly a tad obsessed with Darren Criss. I regret nothing.

So, Cade… What’s your story? (I know I’m gazing adoringly at him, but he’s gotta be used to that by now, doesn’t he? It’s not creepy when you consider how long I’ve been following his every move, it’s like we know each other forever... Wait. No, it’s ok. There’s no way he knows I know everything there’s to know about him.)

My story? It's nothing special. Oh? I  have to tell my story? Well... In that case, I'm just a guy who lost a girl only to find a better one.

I have to say, I’m such a fan! Some people might go for the blond, hot and British bad-boyish type, but not me.  I mean, sure... Said people might give it up for the hot professor and all, (OMG what am I saying?! *Insert JLaw face*) but good guys are totally underrated, no?

We are an underrated group, yes. But I think what people don't realize is that despite being "nice" guys, we're still GUYS. And no guy is nice all the time. We still know how to have fun, and nice doesn't have to translate to boring.

(All right, immediately this picture of Cade comes to mind. Leather! Black leather! Jeans! White T.Shirt! Too many exclamation points! Enough said.)

Tell us about a time when things didn't go the way you wanted, like say, a role you wanted and didn't get, or a relationship that didn’t work out. (He can’t possibly now I know about Bliss. Ugh. Just remembering makes me want to ready my bow and arrows in 3, 2… What? I’m a Katniss.)

God, there have been too many of those. Parts lost, relationships that have crashed and burned, people that disappoint you.

But the good news is... Things are looking up. WAY up.

What is the quality you most like in a woman? *Fumbles with hidden tape-recorder* (Come on, now is NOT the time to have a tech emergency. What if the reason we don’t work out in the future is because I was too busy trying to make the stupid secret microphone to work instead of listening? I’m gonna need a transcript. What are we gonna tell our future children?)

God, I've been a bit all over the place with the women I like. There are plenty of things I'm attracted to, but what I love most is a girl with passion. Max has that in spades. I was attracted to her first because of how she looked, but when I saw her sing... That was the end for me. There was no coming back.

Tell me about Max… (If she wasn’t literally the coolest chic I know, I would totally hate her. I mean, I’m tempted even now. But she’s a singer so we’re cool. For now.)

Well... I guess I got a bit of a head start on this question. What can I say? She's on my mind a lot.

Besides her passion, I love Max's mouth. Not in that way, well, yes in that way too, but I love that she's not afraid to say what she thinks. She doesn't hold back. So, uh, yeah... I find her mouth incredibly sexy.

*Clears throat* Who is your role model and why? (God, I sound totally professional. I gotta remember to thank Jaz for these flashcards…)

My role model? Well, there are plenty of actors I look up to, but there's one person in my life that I would be proud to reach even half her generosity and kindness. That's my Grams. She took me in as her own. She raised me despite being well past parenting age. And she was the coolest grandma ever. I owe her everything.

(What do you say? No, that wasn’t a tear. I’ve something in my eyes. Like a cat or something. You know the drill. This is a Cora Carmack interview, people. Get with the program.)

What’s your spirit animal? (Scratch that. I’m gonna kill Jaz. Slowly. Talk about an Anastasia Steele moment... *face-palm*)

My spirit animal?

Whiskey? Can whiskey be my answer? Or Morgan Freeman's voice? Chuck Norris's beard?

Nah... I'm kidding. I'll be serious now.
My spirit animal is...

Nope. It's still whiskey.

 (*Dies* Seriously, I’m dead.)

Umm… Where do you see yourself in five years? (Seriously, what counselor’s office did that girl raid for these things?)

That's a hard question to answer. Acting obviously. But a lot of it doesn't depend just on me. Don't tell Max (because she'll say I'm stupid for planning my life around her, but she's wrong), but whatever I do, I just want her with me. I've learned the hard way that accomplishments alone can't make you happy.

Thank you so much for stopping by, Cade! (A man CAN’T be this hot. Look at him. I might need electroshock therapy or something for my brain to start working again…)

You're very welcome! Thanks for having me.

So, if you feel like chatting or whatever, do you want my skype username or even e-mail so we… Cade? (Where did he go?)
